The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game set Mega Evolution—Pitch Black arrives July 17th, but you can get early access at New Kawaii, your local game store on July 11th!
About the Pokémon Prerelease Event and Format
Prerelease participants will receive a Pitch Black Build & Battle Box, giving fans a chance to have a Prerelease battle and experience the latest expansion before its official release date.
The Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play, as opposed to a 60-card deck with six Prize cards. This format is perfect for introducing new players to the exciting world of the Pokémon TCG with quick, fun games, and it also gives seasoned players a window into all that the new set has to offer. Due to the limited card pool and the variance of cards that can be acquired in a Build & Battle Box, Prerelease events are also a great opportunity to flex your creative deck-building muscles.
Each Build & Battle Box includes four booster packs and a 40-card ready-to-play deck featuring key cards from current and prior sets, as well as one of four unique foil promo cards.

Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, contact us before the event by calling 914-279-0001 or emailing events@newkawaii.com. If you notify us in advance, you may be eligible to exchange your ticket for another event within 30 days of the original event date, subject to availability. Failure to notify us before the event starts will result in the forfeiture of your ticket.
A New Kawaii customer account is required to receive prizes. A New Kawaii customer account is automatically created when you purchase your ticket online. If you purchase your ticket in store, we can create your account at that time, which requires your name and contact info.
